If you’ve adopted a new puppy or are planning to take Aidi for his first stroll, you need to know what leash to take with you. Taking a leash with you on walks is not the same as being a slave to the leash. Instead, it’s a great way to give your dog a sense of control. Here’s how to get started:
One option is a Y-shaped harness. This will give Aidi more freedom, as it’s fixed in front under Aidi’s chest and not in the back. If Aidi feels uncomfortable, he’ll likely slow down on his own. Y-shaped harnesses are an excellent choice for training your dog to walk on a leash. They’re comfortable to wear, and they protect your dog from any possible injuries.
The length of your leash is important, too. It should be at least six feet long and wide enough to prevent friction burn. Ideally, a 6-foot leather leash will be comfortable for your dog to wear. You can even get retractable leashes, but be sure to choose one that’s not too heavy, as they can cause severe friction burns.
